Are you listening?

I have noticed that my daughters hearing has rapidly been going down the drain. She has to have TV and the computer up so loud just to hear it. She is constantly asking for us to repeat ourselves. Worried about this I asked the doctor and she but in a referral for Audiology to check her out. Sounds easy enough. But here is where my question lies. How come she can't hear a damn thing that comes out of my mouth yet she can hear and ice cream truck 5 blocks away?! It just doesn't make sense! I have yet to make her appointment with the audiology clinic. I guess I should just to be certain. I do however think she has already mastered the art of selective hearing. She must get that from her dad.
